Are you enrolling a Pre-K - 12th grade student for the FIRST time in SCPS?

Enrollment for the 2024-2025 school year is open!


Virginia state law requires a parent or guardian of a child to provide certain information to the child's school division.

Note:
Potential Pre-K students must be 4 years old by September 30, 2024.
Potential Kindergarten students must be 5 years old by September 30, 2024.

STEP 1:
PREPARE the Required Documents for Enrollment

To apply for enrollment in SCPS, families will need to submit the PS Enrollment online application in STEP 2 which requires carefully inputting information and uploading the following documents:

  • Birth certificate (Schedule an appointment when completing the online application to present an official copy to the school's counselor or registrar.)


  • Income verification (Required only for enrollment in the Pre-K/VPI Program,)


  • Commonwealth of VA School Entrance Health Form - (Click here to download the VA Health form.)

  • Valid driver's license/photo ID

  • Three proofs of residency in Sussex County. Residency documents must show the parent/guardian's name and the address of the student's residence. Acceptable documentation includes:

    > Copy of deed with current address and parent/guardian's name
    > Copy of current lease with current address and parent/guardian's name

    > A current utility bill that includes the parent/guardian's name and the address of the student's residence
    > Current real estate tax receipt with current address and parent/guardian's name
    > Sussex County property tax statement for the current year that shows the parent/guardian's
    name and address
    > Other official correspondence from a governmental agency

STEP 2:
Complete the Online Enrollment Application

A. Parents/Guardians enrolling a student in SCPS for the first time will need to create a PowerSchool Enrollment account using the link below.

All required enrollment steps must be completed before a child starts school. If you need support, please contact the School Counseling Department at the anticipated school.

B. Enroll in SCPS by selecting this link: Online Enrollment Application.

Note: After completing and submitting the application, use the "schedule an appointment" feature located on the last page of the application to schedule a time to meet with the school's counselor and complete the registration process.
